Aims
- To build upon the foundational nursing skills introduced in NURS120 and developed during the first practice placement
- To continue the development of effective diagnostic and decision-making skills to aid the assessment and delivery of nursing care for individuals across the lifespan, experiencing a spectrum of physical and mental health care needs?
- To prepare autonomous, accountable, graduate nurses who practice within professional codes and ethical-legal frameworks to provide safe and effective nursing care underpinned by professional attitudes that value the human rights and dignity of service users?
Learning Outcomes
- (LO1) Demonstrate the knowledge of the principles of first aid in relation to appropriate scenarios
- (LO2) Demonstrate a range of nursing skills and procedures used in the safe administration of medicines
- (LO3) Demonstrate the ability to participate in the admission and initial assessment of the patient
- (LO4) Demonstrate ways in which specific communication skills can be applied and adapted to a range of clinical scenarios
