Aim

  • To enable students to recognize the defining characteristics of learning in higher education
  • To enable students to develop an effective engagement with the challenges and opportunities for learning in higher education.

Learning Outcomes

  • (LO1) identify the core characteristics of effective scholarly practice;
  • (LO2) develop effective learning strategies and skills;
  • (LO3) develop core skills in literature searching and the effective use of research evidence; 
  • (LO4) distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate sources of knowledge and evidence; 
  • (LO5)  develop effective writing and presentation skills; commensurate with the requirements of higher education 
    • (S1) Digital scholarship participating in emerging academic, professional and research practices that depend on digital systems
    • (S2) Information technology (application of) adopting, adapting and using digital devices, applications, and services
